When geese fly in V formation, known as an anser, they work as a team to go great distances.  They take turns leading and each provides lift to those in the back.  The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.  When one gets wounded or falls out, two others follow him down to help protect him until he’s recovered.  Only as a team, can they go greater distances at higher speeds to reach their destination.
